Join us at the Dolcito Quarry, a hillside quarry where you start in the middle, run to the top then to the bottom! Its the only Crusher in our series that doesnt start at the top. Youll experience 700 in elevation change on this route.
Columbia, S.C.Offering up-close views inside one of the states oldest quarries and a running challenge like no other, Vulcan Materials Company hosts the 8th annual Quarry Crusher Run--March 23, 8:00a.m.--at its Columbia quarry near the Olympia neighborhood.
From a starting line at 611 Rosewood Drive, the race route goes past granite cliffs to the bottom of the quarry, then back to the top. Runners descend more than 475 feet on an average grade incline of 10-percent. Participants have three distance options: the 3.7 mile Quarry Crusher Run, the 7.4 mile Double Crusher and, the 11 mile Triple Crusher.
Registration is available online atwww.quarrycrusherrun.com. Race prices range from $40 to $60 and include official t-shirt and finishers medal. Discounts are available for military, first responders, teachers, students and teams. Prizes are awarded to overall winners and age group placers.

The Quarry Crusher Run is now held at nine Vulcan Materials locations across the country. Runners who participate in multiple races get discounts and can earn exclusive Rock the Quarry series medals. Every Quarry Crusher race has a community partner, with Vulcan Materials donating race proceeds to these local organizations.
Quarry Crusher Run Columbia benefits South Carolina Youth ChalleNGe Academy, an education program based at McCrady Training Center to help at risk teens increase academically, develop life coping skills and have a chance to receive their GED.
The Quarry Crusher Run Series started in 2012 in Columbia, S.C. as a 3.7 mile race taking runners on a steep course to the granite quarrys floor and back up to the finish line. In 2017, the Quarry Crusher Run expanded to Vulcan quarries in other cities. Vulcan Materials Company now hosts nine events in eight states, each race benefiting a local community partner.
