One of the most efficient ways to elevate bulk materials vertically is with a bucket elevator. A Bucket Elevator consists of a series of buckets attached to a belt or chain with pulleys or sprockets located at the top and bottom of the unit. The buckets are located in a casing or housing to contain the material. Bulk materials are loaded into each bucket as the bucket moves past an inlet point. KWS designs and manufactures a wide variety of bucket elevators based on the characteristics of the bulk material and the process requirements.
KWS Bucket Elevators are custom designed for your application. Bulk material characteristics, capacity and overall height are considered when designing Bucket Elevators. KWS is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer. Every component and assembly is manufactured in the USA by highly skilled craftsmen. All KWS welders are certified in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) Codes. KWS Bucket Elevators are manufactured to rigid quality standards.

The 4B Braime Group, a British PLC listed on the London Stock Exchange, has just celebratedits 130th anniversary this year. The companyhas been a pioneer of the material handling industry, introducing the first pressed seamless steel elevator bucket back in 1909 and since then leading the field in elevator bucket design. Innovation has always been at the heart of the group's ethos, and maintaining theirtradition of making better products by Engineering Design, 4B has contributed many innovative products and solutions tothematerial handling industry, including: the Starco elevator bucket(the worlds first low profile elevator bucket using centrifugal discharge on a parabolic elevator head which revolutionized the way bucket elevators work until today), the Bolt n Go chain system (a revolutionary assembly method for drop forged chains using bolt-on flights instead of welding), theWatchdog Elite bucket elevator monitoring system (the world's first hazard monitoring system that could monitor a complete bucket elevator or conveyor system), and most recentlyHazardmon, a cloud-based hard monitoring solution.
ISO9000 (more formally ISO9001:2015) is an international quality standard that defines minimum requirements for a companys Quality Management System (QMS). A companys QMS comprises the organizations policies, procedures and other internal requirements that ensure customer requirements are met with consistency resulting in customer satisfaction.
To receive an ISO 9000 certification a company must put the required QMS processes and controls in place, monitor performance of its processes and demonstrate continual improvement. Most companies hire an experienced consulting firm to assist with these preparations. Once the QMS is in place, a registrar (or certification body) is hired to audit the companys compliance with ISO 9000 requirements. If discrepancies are found during the audit, they must be corrected before the ISO 9000 certificate is issued. The ISO 9000 certification must be maintained through regular audits (bi-annual or annual) conducted by the selected registrar.
The 4B Braime Grouphas a rich heritage, tracing back its origins to the 19th century, when oilcans made in a small workshop by Thomas Braime quickly gained a reputation for quality. Thomas, the eldest son of a veterinary surgeon, was apprenticed to McLaren, an engineering company manufacturing steam traction engines, but after losing his thumb in an accident, was inspired to look for effective ways to apply oil to machinery. In 1888, he set up production in Hunslet, Leeds, using the new pressings technology. His younger brother Harry, also a skilled engineer, joined him as partner. The rise of the motor industry increased demand for metal pressings and larger premises were soon needed for the expanding business.
The current Braime buildings, with its attractive red brick and terracotta frontage, was constructed between 1911 and 1914. During the First World War, the company played an important role in armament provision, training women as skilled munition workers. The groups headquarters remains in its listed buildings on Hunslet Road;the beautiful interiors are often used in film sets. However, today, the group is truly international with subsidiaries in North America, Europe, China, South East Asia, Africa and Australia.

In cement, mining, fertilizer and industrial aggregate applications, chain bucket elevators are used to transport bulk materials vertically. Demanding environments like these often challenge system reliability and require unique, innovative chain solutions. Balancing adequate strength with features that effectively defend against corrosion and abrasion can often be a challenge but is certainly feasible and should be proactively sought to enhance the reliable and predictable nature of an elevators operation.
Tsubakis WORKHORSE chain was engineered to be the industrial workhorse of the elevator chain segment. It was specifically designed to resist the abrasive and demanding forces of aggregate elevators. Manufactured with premium, high strength and heat-treated steels, Tsubakis WORKHORSE Series carries premier strength ratings and demonstrates superior wear resistance, even in harsh environments. The 5000 Series was developed to resist abrasion in single and dual strand centrifugal systems, while the 4000 Series is applicable to dual strand continuous discharge systems. The Pony Series is utilized mainly in mid-size elevator applications.
High interference press fits deliver substantial fatigue resistance and market leading stability. Premium upgrades include stainless and/or plated pins and bushings, as well as various types of joint seals to help protect against abrasive and corrosive contaminants. Tsubakis patented SJ3- Sealed Joint Technology and its proprietary TitanXL Wear Resistant Surface Treatment are common upgrades for the WORKHORSE Series chains. Both technologies have thoroughly proven to extend chain life in the most demanding applications.
Tsubaki also offers a diverse portfolio of cast, fabricated and polymeric buckets, including standard and customized designs to fit virtually any OEM system. To ensure simple and fast installation, Tsubaki can deliver pre-assembled buckets and chain. This also helps ensure that all assembly components properly fit together before arriving onsite. Matching WORKHORSE sprockets andBS-F Series Backstopsare also available to accompany WORKHORSE chain assemblies.

We also supply welded (according DIN standards) or plastic buckets for minerals and particularly challenging conditions, centrifugal or gravity discharging. Our elevator bucket program also includes the well-known European models (Columbus, Starco and Super Starco) in pressed steel, stainless steel, HDP, polyurethane or nylon.
For over 25 years Muller Beltex has been the distributor in Europe of Maxi-Lift plastic elevator buckets. These are very economical buckets for high capacities and abrasive bulk products. All types are available in HDPE, wear-resistant and non-adherent polyurethane or Zytel heat-resistant nylon and are very abrasion-resistant.
Our stockholding strategy and top-quality product range allows us to always offer the right solution for your elevator. Largely the result of our customers needs we have continuously been optimising our product range.
From experience we know which elevator components and moving parts are subjected to the most wear. What lies at the heart of optimal and safe bulk processing is the elevator belt: to us, the elevator belt is the key. A good quality elevator belt is crucial and can be offered with Polysur.
The connection is the weakers link in an elevator belt, which is why belt fasteners deserve special attention. We supply various belt fasteners for connecting belts with specially woven polyester/polyamide plies (EP) or steel fabric reinforcements.
Muller Beltex likes to share their knowledge as a consultant for your specific issue. Engineering, advice and supervision services to get your bulk handling and processing equipment running optimally. By involving us at an early stage, we can offer you the right solution based on our broad experience and know-how.
